The Bothy Badrallach (At one time it was the only 5 star bothy in Scotland)

“Perched on the Scoraig peninsula by the shores of a sea loch, Badrallach is one of Scotland’s remotest and most picturesque campsites. There is a small open field here and a handful of pitches artfully hidden away in the gorse where you can keep an eye out for red squirrels, pine martins, red deer and eagles. Mountain bikes, blokarts (beach karts with sails),kayaks and a Shetland sail boat are all for hire on site and there is a wonderful gas-lit bothy to hide in should the weather turn. Not that it ever does in Scotland.”




Mabie House Hotel Dumfries Continental Camping Huts

Invercoe Hobbit Houses

Our two micro lodge Hobbit Houses are available for nightly hire, with a 2 night minimum at the weekend. They are a real fun alternative to a tent and especially good when the weather is less than you might wish for…

Each Hobbit unit has a double mattress and two single mattresses to sleep a maximum of four people. There is TV, Kettle, Fridge, Microwave and portable heater in each unit ( No crockery or cutlery provided, you would need to bring your own). Electric heating is provided for the colder months of the year and there are spare electric sockets for charging phones/cameras etc. NB you have to supply your own bedding ie sleeping bags and pillows.



Camping Bods Shetland Nesbister Böd – Whiteness

The Böd of Nesbister is the only original fishing böd in the group. Situated on a low rocky peninsula in one of the most picturesque inlets in Shetland this böd can truly give you the feeling of being back in the days of the “haaf” fisherman since there is no electricity and the toilet is of the “bucket and bury” variety. The water washes almost up to the front door and in bad weather can sweep clean over the peninsula, effectively placing the böd on an island. Truly a location for the adventurous spirit.



Wigwams at Eshaness Shetland

We have 4 wigwams which are cosy log cabins and sleep up to 6 people. There is a kettle, fridge and heater in each wigwam. you will need to bring your own bedding, pillows, sleeping bags etc. Our wigwams have unbeatable views across the bay to the red rock cliffs and famous Drongs, needle stacks rising from the sea.



Yurt on The Isle of Muck

The Yurt is a canvas framed circular structure based on a Mongolian design. It is erected on the North side of the island, in a beautiful secluded bay called Cairidh, which has a small beach and views to the islands of Rum and Canna. It has a wooden floor and a small wood-burning stove in the centre for heating and water, and a small gas stove (with 2 hobs and a grill) is provided for cooking. There is a composting toilet closeby, and shower/wash/toilet facilities are available at the Community Hall (small charge) in Port Mor (10 mins walk). There is also a toilet at The Craft Shop. The Yurt sleeps 3-5 people, and campbeds and pillows are provided. We also provide cooking equipment. Please bring your own sleeping bag/bedding, towels and provisions.

Our kata tents are the ultimate wild camping experience without the hardship. Go to sleep to the sound of the deer and owls outside, or (if you are lucky) the silence of snow falling. The katas are built on untreated larchwood platforms.



StoveThe Observatory The Observatory was built for astronomical purposes in 1906 to take advantage of the wide open skies and lack of light pollution. Now converted to a comfortable house in the country, it has uninterrupted views over Loch Faskally and the Grampian Mountains and is available for self catering accommodation. Over the years it has been used by dozens of playwrights, novelists and journalists as an inspirational place to work; by Scottish government ministers as a venue for discreet brainstorming meetings; by a prominent banker for a family ceilidh and by many many others who are bewitched by its big space, outstanding views and wooded surroundings.

We have the ever popular Microlodge with sleeps 4 comfortably and NEW for this season is the Octolodge which sleeps 6 and has a few more added extras. Each lodge is fitted with mattresses, mini fridge, kettle, microwave, T.V and heater. All you need to bring is your sleeping bag, pillow and eating and cooking utensils.

Puck’s lodge is on the Lamont Lodges site between Loch Eck & the Holy Loch, 6 miles north of Dunoon in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. We offer comfortable,dog friendly, self-catering holiday accommodation available for short, weekend or longer breaks. Our chalet is situated on the peaceful Lamont Lodges park on the edge of the Argyll forest in a beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands and with direct access to the magical Pucks Glen.

“The Studio Glenferness Estate nr Inverness was built in the 1890′s as an artist’s studio and is situated above the river Findhorn. It is 200m from Glenferness House shielded from view by rhododendrons with breath- taking views across the river to Dunearn Moors. It is perfect for a romantic break or a retreat. There is a canopied double bed and a hammock to relax in. There is a shower-room and electric heating. Hidden in the cupboard you will find a fridge and microwave and washing-up bowl as there is no kitchen sink.  There is also a table-top cooker, toaster and kettle.”


Self Catering Gypsy Wagons (Ballachulish to Oban road) midway between the village of Kentallen and Durror. Two genuine restored Gypsy Wagons, which will each sleep two adults and a young child. They are fully equipped with all that is required to camp in a gypsy waggon; bed linen, towels, cooking pots, cutlery, cups and plates, cooking irons and lamp. There is a separate timber shelter for cooking food with gas stoves, table and benches. But all the materials are also available at each wagon should you wish to cook traditionally over a wood fire.

There is also a new farm wc and shower room with constant hot water at the corner of the farm shed and a large stainless steel outside washing up facility with good running hot and cold water.


Burntisland Beach Huts the only beach huts I know of for rent in Scotland

Have your own base at Burntisland beach this year, Beach Huts are located on the seafront near to the Beacon Leisure Centre and inside the hut you will find two deckchairs, storage facilities and hooks to hang your towel. The Beach Huts are 8 x 8 foot and can be hired annually, seasonally; monthly or weekly (April to September).

Loch Etive is the setting for this sleek, spacious wooden cabin which has an open-plan living space, lawned garden and large outdoor terrace. Inside it’s light and airy, with subtle nautical touches (miniature sail boats on the walls, splashes of aquamarine in the furnishings). The coastal port of Oban – gateway to the western isles – is just 10 minutes away, while the Grampians and Ben Nevis are a 40-minute flit by car.

Each Hideaway is specifically designed for one couple and all offer complete privacy. Each Hideaway sits apart from each other and all offer modern boutique style interiors inside. The Romantics’ has a more traditional feel of a romantic country cottage from the outside while the Lover’s and Honeymooners’ have a more ‘grand design’ type look and feel from the outside. The Lover’s and Honeymooners’ are set slightly further away from the farmhouse than the Romantics’.
